We Passed!

Adam and I are officially ready for child birth! We passed our Child Birth Education Class @ South Shore Hospital :) Both of us really enjoyed the experience, and Adam was able to keep his immaturity to a minimum. We learned some new things and met some great couples (it was definitely funny being in a room with 15 other pregnant woman, everywhere you looked there were prego bellies!) The instructors were maternity nurses and were just so sweet and knowledgeable that it just gives you a confidence boost that "you can do it!" when the time comes.

I'm 34 weeks today - 6 weeks to go! Feeling good, but definitely getting more ready to hold this baby in my arms rather than in my belly! He's continued to say super active so I hope that's a sign that he'll be very willing to come out when the time comes. Here is a picture of me at 34 weeks....at this point we're growing bigger by the second I think! :)

Jumbos!

First time posting to the blog....We're continuing to make progress in the nursery and have made a fantastic addition! Will he be a future Jumbo, class of '33????

I still have not reached the "elephant limit" that Kelly has set for the room so more to come. Thanks Nana Lyons for finding that to get us started!

Baby Shower #1

On Saturday, February 27th my mom hosted our first of two baby showers (next one, Kacamburas side, is on April 17th). We were so happy to host it at our house, and it certainly saved us multiple trips not having to lug all the gifts from another location! Adam and I are truly blessed by the generosity, love and support from our family and friends! My mom did an amazing job organizing, decorating and hosting the event - thank you SO much, it was absolutely perfect!! Adam stayed for the fun (and the yummy food!) and we eventually got through the mound of gifts! We were all smiles as we opened everything up - from strollers, to swings, to pack-n-plays, to baby toys and gear, to adorable clothes and the sweetest homemade sweaters we were truly overwhelmed and overjoyed! Thank you everyone who travelled from near and far to be with us (especially the NJ aunties who trekked through 2 feet of snow to be here!) We love you all and can't wait to introduce you to our baby boy! 10 weeks to go.....

Here is a quick slideshow of pictures capturing some of the details!

Crossing things off the list

I'm now in my 3rd trimester and couldn't be more excited! Some days it seems like time is flying by...other times it seems like one day is as long as two, but with 12 weeks to go (maybe 10 or 11 if Baby Kac decides he's as eager to meet us as we are him!) we're still getting close!

Still feeling good, just dealing with some minor back pains and some tossing and turning trying to get comfortable while sleeping - but can't complain too much! Feeling accomplished though as we have recently signed the little guy up for daycare. I got a great referral from my friend Julie at work and Baby Kac will be starting daycare at the end of August. I wish I could stay home with him forever, but knowing he'll be in good hands while I'm at work provides a sense of comfort (I'm sure there will be tears too!) We also found a pediatrician so it feels good to have that checked off the list too. Funny part is that the doctor that will be caring for our baby was also MY pediatrician when I was a kid! Adam and I met with him tonight and he was just as great as I remember him! My cousin's daughter Gabrielle goes to him too, so we are completely happy with yet another decision!

Now if we could just decide on a name for this little guy......

Here's an updated picture of me at 28 weeks!

26 weeks along and counting...

I thought I'd make some posts as we prepare for the little guy's arrival. I think it will be fun to look back and remember the pregnancy moments since I have a feeling once he gets here, there won't be much time for anything else!! haha I have to say I've been really blessed to have a pretty enjoyable pregnancy thus far (I'm praying that it continues to go well through my 3rd trimester) We found out we were having a BOY on December 1st and have been busy registering, decorating and shopping ever since! We're still working on names. We're finding that boy names aren't as easy as girl names are, and many people seem to share the same feeling on that. We've narrowed it down to a smaller list and both feel that it might be a 'game time' decision once we meet our baby boy. We have been busy this past week working on the nursery. My parents (thank you again!) painted his room, Adam and my dad put up the border and then we had new carpet installed. After that Adam and I worked hard to assemble the crib and changing table (thanks to my in-laws for their thoughtful contribution) and Adam surprised me by having the glider put together! We are SO happy with the way everything looks and now are looking forward to adding the finishing touch, a healthy baby boy!
